===== WEEKEND RECAP FOR MARCH 7th – 9th, 2025 =====

Bari Musawwir has been on a tear with 6 consecutive final-round appearances and now has a 20+ point lead in the Monster Jam Stadium East points standings. He and Tyler Menninga were neck-and-neck coming into the weekend, but Menninga’s Grave Digger blew an engine in the quarter-finals which knocked him out of the competition early. Musawwir went on to win racing and the Overall and now leads in the series.

Adam Anderson has been racing through a tough season so far. In the last few weeks, he’s missed out on winning rounds due to breakage and roll-overs. But in Arlington he finally scored the win he’s been looking for, beating out brother Ryan by a super-slim 0.016 seconds!

In Fresno, Coty Saucier added 2 wins and has reached the 8500 point threshold faster than anyone else has done in the Open Championship. He has 23 wins in 41 races and continues to hold the #1 spot in the sport.

Colton Kiser debuted a new High Roller 3 body in Fort Wayne, paying homage to one of the original monster trucks from the 1980s, and he did it in style with a drag racing win on Saturday. Roger Gauger was runner-up then and came back to win on Sunday, showing that he will once again be the man-to-beat on the Full Throttle Tour this season.

Rob Poutre added two wins for Team USA-1 in Pasco. He’s got 17 wins in only 21 races. Cory Snyder was the most-improved driver of the weekend as his All Star Tour win on Sunday boosted him up 12 spots in the rankings. We also saw a big jump from Chris Koehler who made it to his first Monster Jam Stadium Series final of the season after posting the fastest time of the night!

Thank you to everyone who has helped us with reporting events this week: Aaron Basl, Kory Kinal, Max Gillie, Bk Moody, Dillon Fenley, Bryan Wagner, Preston Perez, Byron Cadigan, Kirk Nagy, Phil Vicinanza, and everyone who posted videos and photos online!

===== NEW THIS WEEK =====

No new entries this week as our minimum changed from 10 races to 15 races, so a few drivers were dropped from the rankings. They will return once they’ve reached the new 15 race minimum. We still have one more increase to get us to a 20-race minimum which should come in a couple months.

===== ARLINGTON, TX =====

3/8 Sat Ngt: ADAM ANDERSON [Grave Digger] defeated Ryan Anderson [Son-Uva Digger]

Adam Anderson has had a rough string of events, missing several rounds due to breakage. He’s been in the finals only twice for far this season, too. But he finally broke out of the slump and scored a big win over his brother and reigning Open Champion Ryan in a nail-biter finish in Arlington. Adam won by a super-slim 19.766 to 19.782! That brings him up 6 spots in the rankings.

===== FORT WAYNE, IN =====

3/8 Sat Aft: COLTON KISER [High Roller III] defeated Roger Gauger [Bootlegger]

3/9 Sun Aft: ROGER GAUGER [Bootlegger] defeated Todd Lockwood [Invader-1]

The Full Throttle Monster Trucks raced on a tough two-jump drag inside the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Colton Kiser debuted the new High Roller III body on his American Scout chassis, paying homage to one of the original monster trucks from the 1980s. He powered to a win on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, Roger Gauger came back as fast loser to get a re-match with Kiser in the semi-finals where he advanced past High Roller this time and then beat Todd Lockwood in Invader-1.

===== FRESNO, CA =====

3/7 Fri Ngt: COTY SAUCIER [Dragon] defeated Berto Trevino [Monster Mutt Rottweiler]

3/8 Sat Aft: WESTON ANDERSON [Grave Digger] defeated Brianna Mahon [Scooby Doo]

3/8 Sat Ngt: COTY SAUCIER [Dragon] defeated Ashley Sanford [Megalodon]

3/9 Sun Aft: WESTON ANDERSON [Grave Digger] defeated Coty Saucier [Dragon]

Coty Saucier continues to pull away from the pack in Total Points, increasing his lead over Ryan Anderson to 3500 points! To put that in perspective, only 10 drivers have even earned 3500 points so far this season. Saucier has reached 8500 points faster than any other driver in the Open Championship history, too, as he picked up 2 wins and a runner-up in Fresno this week. Saucier won his first round heat against Weston Anderson on Saturday afternoon, too, but suffered damage on the run and could not return.

Also notable that Ashley Sanford advanced to her 3rd final round of the past month and gained another 5 spots in the rankings. She was one of our biggest improvers two weeks in a row.

===== GRAND RAPIDS, MI =====

This Monster Jam Arena Series event did not include side-by-side racing and so points were not awarded.

===== HARRISBURG, PA =====

3/8 Sat Aft: STEVEN THOMPSON [Iron Warrior] defeated Michael Vaters II [Overkill Evolution]

MTROC staff was on-hand for the annual Monster Truck Thunder races at the historic Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Veteran Mike Vaters in the new-look Black Stallion missed racing after breaking the input shaft during skills competition. That gave Ty Cornelius Jr a bye run in Backdraft, but the hard-charging driver didn’t take it easy and put down possibly the fastest pass of the first round. In the second round, however, Ty’s Backdraft truck busted the front right planetary in no-man’s land of the choppy two-jump track, causing him to miss out on the final round.

In the finals, Steven Thompson and Mike Vaters Jr faced off in a fast, full-throtle race with Thompson eking out the win by inches. While Vaters Jr has won the Skills competition earlier in the afternoon, Thompson would take racing and then also donuts and freestyle for the overall event win.

===== HENDERSON, TX =====

3/8 Sat Aft: DEVIN JONES [T-Rex] defeated Jerry Furajter [Shark Attack]

3/8 Sat Ngt: JERRY FURAJTER [Shark Attack] defeated Devin Jones [T-Rex]

We’ve seen these guys in the finals now four-times in a row. Jerry Furajter is 3-1 in that stretch and has risen up from 59th to 49th overall in the standings.

===== HIDALGO, TX =====

This Monster Jam Arena Series event did not include side-by-side racing and so points were not awarded.

===== LAREDO, TX =====

This Hot Wheels Live event did not include side-by-side racing and so points were not awarded.

===== JACKSONVILLE, FL =====

3/8 Sat Ngt: BARI MUSAWWIR [Zombie] defeated Chris Koehler [Mayhem]

Big news out of Jacksonville as Bari Musawwir takes a bit lead in the Monster Stadium East points series! Tyler Menninga blew the engine in his Grave Digger racing down the backstretch in the quarter-finals against Chris Koehler in Mayhem. That put Menninga out for the night and let Musawwir pass him by in the points. The Zombie driver started it off with a racing win, his 4th of the season.

His opponent—Chris Koehler—was in his first final round of the season and also posted the fastest lap of the evening when he beat El Toro Loco in the semi-finals with a 19.361! Koehler jumped up 11 spots in the rankings with this performance.

===== LISMORE, AUSTRALIA =====

I’m not sure but I think this Aussie event cancelled. There was heavy rain in the area and no social media posts about the event, but we also could not find any official cancellation notice. The last mention of the event was by the promoter on February 27th so we’re assuming it never happened.

===== MEDICINE HAT, AB =====

3/7 Fri Ngt: We do not have results from this event

3/8 Sat Aft: We do not have results from this event

3/8 Sat Ngt: We do not have results from this event

Sadly we are once again 0-fer on the RAM Motor Spectacular tour. I’ve only found one video from this event and it was the mini monster trucks. If you were at these events and have any information on the racing bracket, please send it our way!

===== PASCO, WA =====

3/8 Sat Aft: ROB POUTRE [USA-1] defeated Stanley Hernandez [Lone Wolf]

3/8 Sat Ngt: ROB POUTRE [USA-1] defeated Jerrod Compton [Anubis]

The Nitro Tour had two sell-out crowds in Pasco, Washington for their concrete Chicago-style races. Rob Poutre dominated the field once again in USA-1, giving him 17 wins in 22 races and gaining him 2 spots in the rankings.

===== RAPID CITY, SD =====

3/8 Sat Ngt: CLIFF TURNER [Kamikaze] defeated Carson Williams [Velociraptor]

Four trucks went concrete holeshot racing on a super slick track near Mount Rushmore. Team Throttle Monster came out on top with Cliff Turner sailing to his 2nd win of the season.

===== SAN ANGELO, TX =====

3/8 Sat Ngt: DILLON FENLEY [King Krunch] defeated Thomas Kimmons [Kicking & Screaming]

Not much coverage from San Angelo so not much I can say, but we know that Dillon Fenley picked up the win in King Krunch over Thomas Kimmons. That’s Dillon’s first win of the season as all of his previous events were non-racing events, including a long run with the Hot Wheels Tour late last year.

===== SHELBY, NC =====

3/8 Sat Aft: PRESTON PÉREZ [Toxic] defeated Josh Ekkel [High Tide]

3/9 Sun Aft: CORY SNYDER [Illuminator] defeated Kylie Kent [Frostbite]

Preston Perez comes out of Shelby, North Carolina with the series points lead on the All Star Tour but the racing events were a bit of a struggle for Toxic team. Kylie Kent—who had a great weekend of racing—upset Toxic in the first round on Saturday, but Perez returned as fast loser to beat teammate Cory Snyder and Josh Ekkel who was filling in behind the wheel of High Tide.

On Sunday, Snyder knocked out Perez in the first round, eventually meeting up with Kent in the finals where he picked up his 3rd win of the season and gained over 10 spots in the rankings! For Kent it was her second trip to the finals this year and would have gained her 6 spots, but our new 15-race minimum went into effect and so she’s off the rankings for the moment. She currently has 12 recorded events and needs 3 more to rejoin the rankings.

===== SONORA, CA =====

3/8 Sat Aft: JIMMY CRETEN [Bounty Hunter] defeated Kory Kinal [Jekyll & Hyde]

3/8 Sat Ngt: KORY KINAL [Jekyll & Hyde] defeated Dan Dahlgren [Shark Bite]

Jimmy Creten extended his winning streak to 8 with another victory over his team in Sonora. Saturday night, however, saw Kory Kinal finally break through with a win as Creten went out in the first round. Kinal had had 7 runner-up finishes over his past 9 races but now collects his 6th win of the season and jumps up 4 spots into 32nd. Creten meanwhile has 19 wins (2nd most in the sport) and holds onto his 10th place ranking.

===== VAN BUREN, AR =====

3/8 Sat Aft: KALEY ENGSTROM [Shark Attack] defeated Mason Rife [Outlaw]

Kaley Engstrom is still out there winning races on the Monster Truck Wars tour. She improves to 8-12 against Mason Rife this year and moved up 5 spots into 30th place in the rankings which is her highest ranking of the season.

Mason Rife meanwhile gained 5 spots, making him one of our biggest improvers for a 2nd week in a row. He’s got 7 wins and 13 final round appearances in 21 races.
